The Macarena becomes the biggest dance craze since the Twist in the 1960's. Alternative and Indie rock continue to move into the mainstream. Grunge rock fades away. Female artists rise in prominence. American rap artist 2Pac is shot to death. Punk pioneers, The Ramones, call it
quits. Rock band KISS decide to give it another go.
