1994 in Rock & Roll History:

Alternative bands break into the mainstream with hit albums from Beck, Nine Inch Nails, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Green Day. Nirvana leader, Kurt Cobain, commits suicide. 70's band The Eagles reform, while Pink Floyd calls it quits. Michael Jackson marries Lisa Marie Presley. David Crosby undergoes a liver transplant. Hip Hop continues it's chart success with hits from Outkast, Nas, Snoop Dogg, Notorious B.I.G., The Beastie Boys, Da Brat, Warren G and others. Woodstock '94 is held to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the original festival.
